Lighting Tests for Shooting

The following photographs are the lighting tests we shot before filming to decide what colour lighting we needed. We chose to do the main lighting tests in the audition room as this would be the main place where the lighting would need to be perfect as we need to create a dramatic and exciting effect.

This purple lighting is to create a lighter effect, however it is also quite eery as it is not too bright and will give a purple tint to Rosie. This could be used when we turn the lights back on after Rosie has been attacked with a hammer, which would suggest calm after the panic.

This is a shot of the main stage where Rosie performs her audition, this has two lights; low normal lighting and red lighting from the left, this could be used to create an eery atmosphere (when she enters for her audition). It may also be used during the end of this scene just before we cut to the scene where Rosie is taken outside as it gives a melancholy effect.

This photograph shows the red light from both angles which gives it a deeper red effect, this could be good for when Asif hits Rosie round the head with a hammer as it will create a sense of tension and it looks very mysterious.

This is the main singer light, this will most likely be used when Rosie is about to do her audition because it looks like a normal audition room with the focus only on Rosie

This is a mixture of lighting (several different ones at different levels of brightness) we will do this by flashing these lights all together to create different brightness and colour effects

This is Rosie when she is tied to the audition chair, this is the main singer light again which is only focused on Rosie therefore making it a bright light in her eyes.
