While we were filming, we wanted to make sure that we got all the right lighting effects so that everything looked how we had imagined it to.
While filming Rosie walking through the hall to her audition room, we used a bright blue lighting which created a spooky effect but it didn't make it look too over the top as it was only for a short amount of time.
When Rosie was in the audition room, we used several different lights to come up with the effects, first of all we used one red light and the main singer light, this gave the room a slight red tint but it wasn't too overpowering as Rosie needed to be visible. The lighting stayed the same until Rosie had collected her chair as told and took it to the centre of the room - at this point the singer light was brighter which made it look as though Rosie was uncomfortable as the light was shining in her eyes therefore she couldn't see anyone or anything around her.
When Asif informed Rosie she needed to improvise with what was about to happen we started slowly using several of the lights and changing the brightness levels to create different effects. When Asif hits Rosie round the head with the hammer we made the lights change colours and kept moving the brightness levels around so that it created a flashing effect, this created a sense of panic which was important when doing that part of the scene. When he was about to hit Rosie we very quickly turned all the lights off so that it was sudden darkness (panic to calm). This enables the audiences to reflect on what had happened and for the scene to calm down.
The lights then come on and the main singer light is bright onto Rosie so that the audience can clearly see that she in unconscious.
The shots were Asif's car is driving away is at night time - which would be necessary so that no one saw him put Rosie in the car, therefore this was easy to shoot as we just used the natural lighting when we were outside.
While Rosie is in the alleyway, we used some night vision shots to make the shots look spooky and exciting however we also used some normal daylight shots, but they are unfocused and from Rosies point of view to show the audience that she is dazed. We also used spinning effects which show Rosie's panic.

Music for our teaser trailer
Choosing the music for our teaser trailer will be hard because we need to make sure that we are portraying the right image when people hear our trailer because if we used music that didn't fit it wouldn't make the film seem the same and would lose quality.
As our teaser trailer is a thriller and parts are very jumpy and mysterious we want to use music with a 'dark' tone, something that will create suspense and intense excitement.
The first song we have thought about is called 'Madhouse' by Rihanna, as it is an intro to her music album therefore it is only 1 minute, 35 seconds long. It has the perfect tempo and it isn't too over the top and loud but it is intriguing and catchy. It is likely that we will use this song as it fits perfectly with our trailer and I think it will capture attention if someone over hears it.
I also found a soundtrack that was used for another film, but the films are completely different therefore i thought that we could use the soundtrack shown below (from Saw) as it doesn't have any words which could be useful, and it is very slow and has a creepy effect, but the tempo speeds up from time to time which would make our film exciting.
I have also found a website which has several suspense and thriller sound tracks which is perfect for giving us ideas of what sort of music we could try throughout different parts to create excitement, as there are many different sounds that all fit into the thriller genre.

As we need to get music for different parts of the films we need to use music that has different paces; fast for the dramatic, exciting parts and slow for the slower paced parts such as introduction music.
Below i have made a list of music that we could use throughout our film, however these are only ideas and we may come up with different music when editing:
Alexandre Desplat – New Moon
Minerva - Deftones
My Chemical Romance - I Dont Love You
Nany Sinatra - Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)
Evanescence - Bring Me To Life
My Chemical Romance - Famous Last Words

Sketches of The Magazine and Poster Covers
MAGAZINE COVER
The image above is a sketch for what our music magazine may look like. We will call it EPIC film, and use a photograph of Rosie and Asif, or Rosie and Matt for the front cover. The image will be a smashed mirror with our chosen photograph at the top right hand corner of the frame, with the words 'Psychopath' underneath in a font we will have chosen once we have done font testing - we will try to make it similar to the one shown in our sketch. From doing font tests this will help us chose which font we are going to use for the final product and also which fonts we may want for the additional writing. The colours we will use will be a variety of neon but with darkish tints so it gives it a dark effect. To make it look professional we will also add a barcode and choose a price which is suitable from looking at our research into other magazines.
MOVIE POSTER
This part is the planning for our films trailer, we will have photographs from the trailer scattered around the page, along with the title again; 'Psychopath'. For this title we have chosen a few fonts which we will test on the final image so that we can see which one looks best and creates the right effect from using the font testing research.
Then we will have a very short phrase giving a tiny hint as to what the film is about and try to make sure that it will appeal to our audience and will be eye catching.
We will then add Rosies name at the top to make it look professional so show that she is the main actor in the film. This will then be followed by all the other names involved (e.g. me, Matt, Asif and Lou) for parts such as the director and actors etc and a tag sentence which will explain a tiny bit about the film to make the reader interested and to also give them an idea as to what the film is about.
We may also add the words 'coming soon' to make it seem more realistic as though it is a professional film poster.

Lighting Tests for Shooting
The following photographs are the lighting tests we shot before filming to decide what colour lighting we needed. We chose to do the main lighting tests in the audition room as this would be the main place where the lighting would need to be perfect as we need to create a dramatic and exciting effect.
This purple lighting is to create a lighter effect, however it is also quite eery as it is not too bright and will give a purple tint to Rosie. This could be used when we turn the lights back on after Rosie has been attacked with a hammer, which would suggest calm after the panic.
This is a shot of the main stage where Rosie performs her audition, this has two lights; low normal lighting and red lighting from the left, this could be used to create an eery atmosphere (when she enters for her audition). It may also be used during the end of this scene just before we cut to the scene where Rosie is taken outside as it gives a melancholy effect.
This photograph shows the red light from both angles which gives it a deeper red effect, this could be good for when Asif hits Rosie round the head with a hammer as it will create a sense of tension and it looks very mysterious.
This is the main singer light, this will most likely be used when Rosie is about to do her audition because it looks like a normal audition room with the focus only on Rosie
This is a mixture of lighting (several different ones at different levels of brightness) we will do this by flashing these lights all together to create different brightness and colour effects
This is Rosie when she is tied to the audition chair, this is the main singer light again which is only focused on Rosie therefore making it a bright light in her eyes.

Font Testing and Analysis of Other Posters
The font on The Wolfman poster is all capitals and a contrasting colour compared to the background. It also has a slightly blurred effect to make it look more interesting. The colour theme is black and white, with only the wolfman and the title eye catching to the audience. I may use this bold, capitals font for my ideas as it seems popular within horror and thriller films. The character used in this poster is looking directly at the viewer with a scary expression, which would be a good way to attract audiences if they like horror films. The cast names are in a different colour, this may be because there are some well known actors in the film so they may want fans of the actors to recognise they are in it, and watch it.
The Crazies has the same sort of colour theme, except for the title which is in a bright red font. This definitely attracts attention as it is a lot bolder colour that the background. The colour red also symbolises blood which adds effect and gives an idea that the film is going to be gory. The pitch fork is more contrasted than the floor so it stands out, and has droplets of blood trailing after it which adds to the effect.
However, the title is not in a main focal point such as the centre of the screen so the attention is not directly on the title of the film. This could be an interesting idea because it puts focus onto the image and the title without either one being too overpowering.
There are a lot of credits and information at the bottom which is unlike most movie posters, therefore I dont think we will put that much information on our posters because we dont there to be too much small writing which may disinterest the reader.
The Collector poster is similar to The Wolfman poster and The Crazies, as they all have tiny hints as to what the film is about without revealing much at all. This one is effective as it is shocking but mysterious at the same time as there is no actual information as to what this image could mean. The image has little light to give a dark effect, but the font of the title is also in a bold colour and all the letters are capitals. The caption below the title is in red, which could also symbol blood, however it isn't anywhere near the size of the title so that it doesn't overpower it.
I think that this poster includes a good amount of information as it isn't too plain and simple, but it doesn't have too much information to be off-putting.
The Uninvited poster gives the gist of the film away straight away. However, it is still mysterious and looks very exciting. I think this poster would definitely appeal to horror film lovers. The writing is also different to the other posters I have looked at because it looks uneven and sort of hand written. This gives a spooky effect, which is why I may choose to use a similar font in my poster, however I have to be careful as our film is also a thriller genre.
FONT TESTING
From using font software, I am going to test out different fonts with our chosen film name to see which ones look best, and which one we may want to use for our films poster.
This one looks as though it is dripping blood, which woud be very good if our film was very gory. However as it is not this may not be best suited. I do like the font of the writing though, so I may chose to keep it.
This font looks quite mysterious however I think it looks like a font from an old film, where as our film is modern so we need a more modern font. I like how the font is quite jagged and creepy however if it was to fit in with the thriller genre as well it may not look as professional.
This font that I chose is similar to some of the fonts from real film posters, as it is very bold and all the letters are in capitals. This makes it stand out and will capture the viewers attention. If the title is powerful and bold it may also effect the film and improve the image.
This is probably one of my favourite fonts, because it has a very intriguing effect however it doesn't particularly represent a certain genre, therefore it would be perfect for our film. It does look quite spooky but it's not too over the top like the first font I chose. I would also have to think about how I could incorporate it into the poster and what colour font I would use as it probably wouldn't look as professional if it was a different colour.
This font is very simple and basic, which was why I chose it as an idea. It is very clear for the reader to see and as it is all in capitals it does stand out. The only problem is that this type of font is sometimes associated with alien movies as it looks very sci-fi.
The following two fonts are quite similar as they are both under the 'handwritten' section. I think both would be good for our film, however the bottom one does look slightly more suitable for a horror title. I think that although they are not in capital letters they do stand out for being slightly different to other horror/thriller films.

Sketches and Test Shoot for Magazine Cover and Poster
For our poster and magazine cover we will use Rosie's DSLR to shoot the photographs. By using images of Rosie and Matt (Chris) in a 'ripped-up Polaroid' effect; this will show the idea of the characters Chris and Rosie being in love and happy together before the incident that causes Rosie to get him locked up in jail. The images being 'ripped-up' shows the anger that Chris feels for Rosie as he loves her but hates that she got him put into jail. This leads into the story line of Chris hiring the Hitman (Asif) to catch her at an audition and seek revenge.
It is important for us to have a shot list so we know what needs to be done in each shot we shoot, it also makes it easier to film as we know what we have to be doing in each shot..
This set of test shots are posed by Rosie and Matt who are the characters ROSIE and CHRIS. The mood intended is happy, lovable and the late couple are seen to be enjoying themselves. Matt's character is seen to be quite 'matcho' and 'chavvy' to show irony on the force he uses on Rosie in the plot for our teaser trailer.
